Terms and privacy

INTERLING is an educational environment for practising translation. Every client, organisation, brief, document and fee in the studio is fictional and generated for learning.

Nothing you translate here is delivered to a real client, and no real payment is ever offered, negotiated or made. Fee negotiations in Ask the Client are simulations.

Assignments, client replies, assessments and reference translations are produced with the help of an AI language model. They can contain mistakes. Reference translations are learning aids, and valid alternatives always exist.

Your source texts and translations are sent to the AI provider only to generate and assess your assignments.

Portfolios exported from INTERLING always carry this statement, which cannot be removed:

This portfolio contains simulated educational translation assignments and fictional clients. It demonstrates practice work and learning progress and does not constitute proof of real employment, commercial engagements, or verified professional experience.

Keep your password private. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and sessions are kept in secure, HTTP-only cookies.

Your drafts, translations, assessments and notes belong to you. You can delete any assignment from your archive at any time.

We store your email address, username, language preferences and the work you create in the studio, so the studio can work for you.

Service emails, such as password reset messages, may include open and click tracking that tells us whether a message was opened. Links that carry a security token are never tracked.

Visitor statistics for this site are collected without cookies and without identifying you personally.
